WORMROT – Dirge / Album Download For Free !
Wie soeben bekannt wurde, haben sich sowohl die Band WORMROT als auch deren Label Earache dazu entschieden, das neue Album Dirge kostenlos zum Download anzubieten. Und zwar hier. Das witzige, bzw. inovative daran ist, dass das Album erst im Mai erscheinen soll. Hier und auch in Übersee…. Ganz klar also, dass das Label hier auch (nebst der Angst vor illeegaler Verbreitung) die enorme Nachfrage nutzt und auf zielgruppenorientierten Kontaktfang geht. Zumal man sich für den Download per Mail online registrieren muss. Für fetten Grind jedoch vollkommen in Ordnung. Der offizielle VÖ für die physischen Tonträger ist der 27.05.2011.

CARCASS – Heartwork / Original Smasher + 8 Bit-Style
Da die Woche etwas sehr hektisch war, mussten leider ein paar geplante Posts auf der Strecke bleiben. So ist das nun mal… aber egal, denn diesen Post soll es zum Wochenabschluss dann doch noch geben. Und zum Glück hat eben jener auch keinen Bezug auf zeitaktuelle Geschehnisse oder Neuerscheinungen. Wäre zumindest seltsam, spräche man in Verbindung mit dem CARCASS Heartwork-Album von einer neuen Scheibe. Denn diese erschien bereits 1993 auf Earache und ist heute viel mehr Meilenstein als irgendeine Kopie von einer Kopie, von einer Kopie. Produziert wurde das Album der Engländer dann übrigens auch von niemand geringerem als Altmeister Colin Richardson. Hier nun einmal das legendäre Original im Video und eine coole 8-Bit Version dazu. Und naja, kein Plan, warum ich so auf 8-Bit stehe. Muss aber irgendwie mit diversen Spiel-Konsolen der Jugend zusmmenhängen, hehe…

Das sich Earache in Sachen Promo gerne mal was einfallen läßt, bewies das Label aus Nottingham ja bereits mit dem Sponsoring des Ultimate Fighters Dan Hardy. Jetzt geht es mal wieder eine Runde weiter. Und zwar mit einem eigenen iPhone App namens Earache Extreme Stagediving ! Ziel ist es als Stagediver soweit wie möglich in Richtung Crowd zu springen. CAULDRON – Burning Fortune ?
CAULDRON aus Toronto haben nach Ihrer Europa-Tour mit SUICIDAL ANGELS, STEELWING und ENFORCER erste Statements zum kommenden Album Burning Fortune losgelassen.
“So its been a couple weeks now since we returned from Europe and I figure its time for an update on what’s been going on since our last blog dropped off the face of the internet. I’ve added a summary of the last 3 weeks of the Euro tour to the “CHAINED TO THE STEEL ENFORCED SUICIDAL WINGS” tour blog.
We’ve been busy tweaking the new songs for the next album since we got back. We just did a couple new demos for BREAKING IN and RAPID CITY and also laid down some solos over the weekend for ALL OR NOTHING and FROZEN IN FIRE. BURNING FORTUNE is the working title for the record so far and we have about 10 songs demoed now. Some of the other new tunes are TEARS HAVE COME, THE SERPENT SORCERESS and I CONFESS. We’re looking to record hopefully in September and have this out early next year.
We have a few gigs this summer to keep us busy… this Saturday in Ottawa with Flying Fortress at Mavericks. This one should be quite interesting as it will be our first as a four-piece. No, we haven’t got a new member, but I cut a few of my fingers open pretty badly on some broken glass over the weekend and just had them stitched up. I’m not able to hold a pick right now, so rather than cancel the show I’ve asked my old friend Brandon Wars to fill in on bass for the show. Should be fun, I’ve never really done the “lead singer” thing before and I haven’t played with Brandon in over 4 years, so I’m kinda looking forward to this.”
BONDED BY BLOOD – Arbeiten An Neuem Album
Die Jungs von BONDED BY BLOOD sind derweilen käftig mit ihren Aufnahmen zum neuen Album beschäftigt. Man schreibt Studiotag 3 und gibt erste Statements zum Verlauf. Zuletzt veröffentlichten die Kalifornier 2008 das Album Feed The Beast über Earache.
Gitarrist Juan Juarez ergreift das Worrt:
“We are now on day 3 and close to getting all the drum tracks done. Its been a lot of fun just watching and playing along with Bimbo for the past 2 days recording drums tracks. He has for sure been working hard and has done a great job. Ralph definitely knows his shit, its been fun working with him. Today I will begin tracking all rhythm guitars. I’m really excited to get this shit done so be ready for destruction, my stupid hoes!”
Drummer Carlos Regalado kommentiert:
“So far the drums sound amazing, we have been at it for 2 days straight. We should be finishing up in a couple hours and finally moving on to guitars, just making sure everything sounds perfect and there’s nothing that sounds funny or off time. Our producer Ralph has been the coolest guy ever to work with, I am really enjoying how the album is coming out, he really knows his shit. I’m having a blast making ‘Exiled to Earth,’ feed the beast was kinda rushed, I feel really comfortable and cant wait for everyone to hear how sweet this shit sounds.”

Das britische Label Earache Records wird eine 3er DVD-Box von AT THE GATES namens The Flames Of The End auf den Markt bringen. Die Box soll Videomaterial von 1991 bis 2008 der Melodic Death Metal Pioniere beinhalten. Neben dem frühen Material wird somit auch die 2008 gespielte Reunion Tour der Schweden, bei welcher die Band ihre finalen Abschiedskonzerte spielte, thematisiert.
